I live in North Georgia near Sawnee Mountain, a short skip from the Etowah River. On a good day I’ll have five Oreos. Some days I might just have three. Been trying to cut back.

I love books and spending time in bookstores. When it’s nice out, I like to run our dog around the fields until she flops or is all sniffed out.

Few things are better than being in a quiet gym with a basketball in my hands. If I could wake up tomorrow with the skills of any NBA player, it would be Fred VanVleet. He is tough, crafty and one heck of a 3-point shooter.

I share my birthday with the great Saul Bass, who once said: “I want to make beautiful things even if nobody cares.” Sounds about right.
